A Delhi court sentenced 51-year-old Nand Kishore to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and one daughter using an iron rod during an early-morning assault in 2018. Additional sessions judge Samar Vishal at Saket courts observed that the accused showed an exceptionally serious degree of violence towards his family members at their Sangam Vihar residence in South Delhi. The attack also left another daughter, Suman, with severe, irreversible head injuries that rendered her bedridden. According to the prosecution, the accused had experienced financial stress due to his inability to arrange the marriages of his daughters. The court noted that testimonies from the couple's sons, Rahul and Mohit, who were present in the house, and medical evidence established Kishore's immediate presence and guilt.
