Delhi Govt Announces Higher Parking Fees and 50% WFH to Curb Pollution

The Delhi government on Monday announced a comprehensive set of measures to combat air pollution ahead of the winter season starting November 1. Parking charges at authorised sites across Delhi will double from November 1 until February 28, 2027, excluding facilities managed by the DMRC. Government and private offices must reduce their in-office workforce by 50 per cent during this period, with the remaining staff working from home. Staggered office timings will also take effect, requiring MCD offices to operate from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and GNCTD offices to function from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. Additionally, the government instituted a complete ban on construction and demolition activities from December 10, 2026, to January 20, 2027, alongside restrictions on dust-generating demolition work starting November 1.
