Delhi High Court Grants PepsiCo Temporary Relief Over Sting Label

The Delhi High Court has stayed an order by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India against PepsiCo and Monster Energy regarding the use of the "energy drink" label. Justice Amit Mahajan stayed the June 30 order on October 6, noting that the regulator acted without issuing a show-cause notice or granting a hearing. The regulatory order had directed beverage firms to discontinue using the energy drink description due to alleged misbranding. The court sought responses from the Health Ministry and the regulator, listing the matter for November 5. Similar legal relief was recently granted to Red Bull India Pvt Ltd after facing comparable regulatory action.
