Delhi Launches Online Liquor Booking At 208 Shops
· Business · NDTV, Indian Express
Delhi has launched an online liquor booking system across 208 state-run shops, allowing customers to select brands, reserve bottles and pay digitally through a dedicated app. The system enforces a strict 48-hour deadline for order collection, with no home delivery option available. This digital initiative modernises procurement while maintaining existing physical collection requirements. The rollout represents the first phase of a broader plan to streamline alcohol sales in the capital.
Why it matters
The new system directly impacts Delhi residents' access to alcohol by changing purchase procedures, though delivery remains unavailable, requiring in-person collection within two days.
