Delhi's Ramlila Maidan Available For Booking Only Three Days This Year
· India · NDTV, Times of India, India Today
The 12-acre Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, which has a capacity of 50,000 people, is available for booking on only three days this year, specifically December 29, 30, and 31. Officials in the know confirmed the strict limitation on the historic ground's availability. The venue is typically used for large political rallies, cultural events, and religious gatherings throughout the year. The reason for the restricted booking window was not immediately detailed by officials. The severe reduction in operational days is expected to impact major public events traditionally hosted at the site.
Why it matters
Organisers of large political rallies, cultural festivals, and religious gatherings in Delhi will struggle to secure a venue capable of accommodating 50,000 people. The extreme restriction forces major public events to seek alternative locations in the national capital.
