· India · Hindustan Times, NDTV, Indian Express

The University of Delhi has announced the rollout of the inaugural batch of its Four-Year Undergraduate Programme under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. This transition creates a direct pathway for eligible students to apply for PhD programmes without needing to complete a traditional master's degree. In the initial 2022-23 academic session, a total of 75,948 students enrolled in the four-year undergraduate curriculum across regular colleges and the School of Open Learning. University data indicates that 40,005 students chose to exit the programme after completing three years in 2025. Meanwhile, 35,943 students opted to continue into the fourth year to qualify for the direct doctoral pathway.
