Developing nations unjustly blamed: PM Modi flags climate inequality

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated at the International Conference on The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics that developing countries are unjustly blamed for carbon emissions despite India's per-capita emissions being less than half the global average. He highlighted that developed nations emit up to six times more carbon per capita than India. Modi also noted India is the only G20 country to have fulfilled all Paris COP-21 commitments well ahead of time, setting global benchmarks in non-fossil fuels and solar capacity. He recalled launching the 'Convenient Action- Continuity for Change' book at COP-21 and platforms like the International Solar Alliance and Global Biofuel Alliance to assert India's environmental efforts. Additionally, he highlighted India's renewable energy growth, with solar capacity rising from around 2 GWs in 2014 to over 160 GWs currently.
