Devotional Film Hanuman Ansh Crosses Rs 291 Crore Worldwide

· Entertainment · India Today, Indian Express

Hanuman Ansh, a modestly budgeted devotional film directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, has crossed Rs 291.40 crore in worldwide gross collections by its 40th day in theatres. Released with a budget of around Rs 2 crore and an opening of just Rs 10 lakh, the film earned Rs 8.25 crore nett in India on Day 40 across 9,175 shows. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, this late-run daily collection surpassed major Hindi releases such as Dhurandhar, Pathaan, and Chhaava at the same stage. The film's total India nett collection stands at Rs 231.13 crore alongside an overseas gross of Rs 18.50 crore. Centred on Neem Karoli Baba, the drama has sustained its theatrical run through word of mouth rather than initial box-office hype.

Why it matters

The unexpected commercial success demonstrates that strong word of mouth for content-driven regional and devotional themes can sustain long theatrical runs despite modest initial openings.
