Indian tennis player Dhakshineswar Suresh defeated world number 77 Marcos Giron in straight sets at the Winston-Salem Open on Monday in Chennai. Ranked 394th globally, Suresh secured a 6-3, 7-5 victory in just over an hour, firing 33 winners and 17 aces. He broke Giron in the opening game and sealed the second set after a tight contest in the 11th game. Suresh will next face eighth seed Juan Manuel Cerundolo and has also been named in India's squad for the upcoming Asian Games.
