The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has criticised both protesters and police officers for entering Gurdwara Bangla Sahib during demonstrations in New Delhi. DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka stated that protesters carrying placards and raising slogans deeply hurt Sikh sentiments by trying to turn the sacred shrine into a political arena. Kalka also questioned the presence of uniformed police personnel walking through the shrine grounds, calling it intolerable while acknowledging that officers acted to remove trespassers. Several demonstrators had sought refuge inside the central Delhi gurdwara premises to evade detention as security forces cracked down on capital protests.
