· India · Hindustan Times, The Hindu

The Enforcement Directorate detained former Karnataka Public Service Commission chairman Shivashankarappa Sahukar and serving member BV Geetha on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a government job recruitment racket. Investigators allege two separate networks identified candidates with high marks and negotiated appointments in exchange for payments ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. The agency conducted searches at Sahukar’s residence in Bengaluru’s Dollars Colony and at Geetha’s home. The probe reportedly stems from information provided by IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar, who is also under scrutiny for his alleged role in the recruitment deals.
