Eight-Year-Old Killed In Bandra Hit-And-Run, Driver Arrested

An eight-year-old boy was killed on Sunday afternoon when an Innova Crysta ran over him on John Baptist Road near Jijamata Garden in Mumbai's Bandra West. Police said 45-year-old Megha Rawal was driving at high speed and was allegedly distracted by a phone call when the vehicle hit the boy at around 2.15 pm. Bystanders rushed the critically injured child to Holy Family Hospital in the same car, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Rawal was arrested shortly after the incident and the Bandra Police have launched a probe into allegations of speeding and phone use behind the wheel.
