The full Election Commission met in New Delhi for the second time in five days and extended the deadlines for the ongoing SIR exercise in Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya. In Andhra Pradesh, the revised period for disposing of claims and objections now runs from July 31 to October 10, with the final electoral roll publication set for October 16. In Meghalaya, the deadline for publishing the final electoral roll has been revised to October 26. The draft electoral roll for Meghalaya listed 21.7 lakh electors after deleting roughly 7.7% of absentee, shifted, dead, and duplicate entries.
