The Election Commission is scheduled to release a joint statement following media reports alleging formal dissent within the poll body. An Indian Express report claimed that two Election Commissioners objected 14 times to aspects of the nationwide Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls over the past 10 months. The poll panel previously rejected the report, stating that decisions are made unanimously and that individual views do not represent the institution's official stand. Opposition leaders, including Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, strongly condemned the alleged rift and accused officials of treason. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also demanded an impartial investigation into the matter.
