Election Deniers Fall Across Key Races After No Fraud Claims
· World · Wired, France 24
Election deniers lost major contests in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio after failing to substantiate fraud claims. In Arizona, former Congressman Andy Biggs, a Jan. 6 election challenger, conceded to Democrat Katie Hobbs without alleging rigging. Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers, who voiced election-security doubts, was decisively defeated by Abdul El‑Sayed. Wisconsin governor Tom Tiffany, who objected to Joe Biden’s certification, lost to David Crowley and offered no fraud narrative on defeat. In Ohio, billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, who claimed the 2020 election was stolen by “big tech,” was beaten by Amy Acton. None of the defeated candidates or their backers have raised legal or investigative challenges to the results.
Why it matters
The losses erode the electoral viability of the election‑denial movement, removing key figures from state and federal offices just as they had promised to investigate prior contests. Democrats gained ground in pivotal races, strengthening their control of state governments and the Senate.
