Everton secured a 1–0 away win against 10-man Newcastle United at St James' Park, marking their first Premier League victory on the road since February. A goalkeeping error by Lukas Hornicek allowed Thierno Barry to score the decisive goal in the first half. The defeat leaves Newcastle struggling with four losses in their last six top-flight matches. Everton captain James Tarkowski delivered a commanding performance to help the Toffees register their fourth clean sheet of the season. Late in the match, Newcastle substitute Jacob Ramsey was sent off just minutes after coming onto the pitch.
Why it matters
