Former bureaucrat Ashish Joshi was taken away by Delhi Police Special Cell personnel from Nehru Park in New Delhi on September 2 while on his morning walk, and was dropped home in the evening. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit alleged that two constables approached Joshi, told him he was needed for questioning over a recent tweet, and drove him in his own car to the Special Cell station in New Friends Colony. Dikshit said Joshi's car was later found parked at that station and that lawyers and family members sent there could not get any confirmation of his whereabouts. Joshi later confirmed on X that Delhi Police Special Cell had dropped him home, adding "Details later." Delhi Police has not issued any official statement on the detention, arrest, or questioning, and the reason behind picking him up remains unclear beyond Dikshit's account that it was linked to a recent social media post.
