The 29th passing-out parade of the OTA inducted 252 officers, including 34 women, under the Short Service Commission (Technical) course. Hailing from Kozhikode, Kerala, Athira follows a family tradition of military service, with her father, both grandfathers, and uncle having served in the Indian Army or Railway Protection Force. She graduated in Civil Engineering from NIT Calicut and was an active member of the Naval NCC unit during her college years.
