Fairphone has officially launched the Gen 6 Plus in the US, marking the first time the company is selling its devices directly to American consumers without a third-party intermediary. Unlike previous US models that relied on the Murena software firm and the Google-free /e/OS, this version ships with a standard Google-equipped Android operating system. The device features a modular design that allows users to replace up to 12 components, including the battery and screen, using a single screwdriver. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset with 12GB of RAM, the phone is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Fairphone has committed to providing software updates until 2033, including at least six Android OS upgrades.
