Fake Will and Death Certificate Unravel in Plot to Seize Kamal Nath's Bijnor Land
· India · Indian Express
Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath discovered an alleged plot to acquire his ancestral agricultural land in Amikhanpur village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district using forged documents. While pursuing his inheritance claim over the two hectares of land belonging to his late father Mahendra Nath, Nath learned that an unregistered will and a fake death certificate had been submitted to the Najibabad tehsildar's court. The Bijnor police registered an FIR at Najibabad police station and arrested two individuals, while a third suspect remains absconding. According to the police, the accused used a fabricated death certificate dated April 10, 2003, and listed an incorrect spouse name to establish a false chain of ownership. Investigators are currently examining whether the same group was involved in fraudulent acquisition attempts regarding other properties.
