Family Alleges Woman Died in Stampede at Bareilly Raksha Bandhan Event

The family of a 45-year-old woman has alleged that she died in a stampede-like situation during a mass Raksha Bandhan celebration in Bareilly. The event at Bareilly Club Mela Ground was organized by Bareilly Mayor Umesh Gautam and attended by around 20,000 women. Bareilly Police stated they have received no official information or complaint regarding the death and have launched a probe. Mayor Gautam denied that any stampede occurred, stating the event concluded peacefully. The victim, Madhu Singh, lived in the Chatipur area and reportedly suffered breathing difficulties after getting caught in a crush.
