A 19-year-old man died by suicide on Friday after jumping from Khawadya Hill in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra. The teenager had been on the hilltop for three hours following an argument with his parents over his demand for a new mobile phone. His father fell to his death while attempting to grab and save him, and the mother subsequently jumped after witnessing the two fall. Local police, fire brigade personnel, and villagers had attempted to persuade the teenager to return home throughout the afternoon. The bodies have been recovered for further formalities.
