· Sports · ESPNCricinfo, Cricbuzz, Times of India
Pakistan secured a 1-0 lead in the series by successfully chasing down a 183-run target against Sri Lanka. Lahiru Udara provided the lone bright spark for Sri Lanka with a knock of 91 runs. However, the remainder of the Sri Lankan batting lineup delivered a hapless performance that failed to build on that foundation. Openers Mohammad Farhan and Sadaqat helped anchor the run chase for Pakistan. The comprehensive victory gives Pakistan the early momentum in the series.
Why it matters
The win gives Pakistan an early advantage in the series standings, while Sri Lanka faces urgent pressure to address its batting collapse before the next match.
