Father and Son Die After Jumping from Maharashtra Hill

An 18-year-old, Kunal Chandwade, jumped to his death from Khavdya Dongar in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, after a three-hour standoff with rescuers and his parents. His father, Murlidhar, also fell to his death while attempting to pull him back from the cliff edge. The teenager had been distressed following a refusal to buy him an expensive mobile phone, despite a local sarpanch offering him an iPhone to persuade him to move to safety. Police are currently investigating the exact sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
