FIR Registered After 20 Cats Found Mutilated in Mumbai

Police in Mumbai have registered an FIR following the deaths of nearly 20 stray cats and kittens in the Chembur area. Animal rights organisation PETA India has offered a reward of up to Rs 50,000 for information leading to an arrest. The complaint was filed by 53-year-old animal feeder Rubeena Abdul Malik Pathan after she discovered multiple dead cats with severe head injuries near a local temple. Animal welfare groups took the bodies to a hospital in Parel for post-mortem examinations. Investigators have launched a probe under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
