Five friends from Chhattisgarh narrowly avoided being trapped in Nepal's recent flash floods by stopping for a tea break on August 26. The group, who were travelling in a rented car to visit temples, learned at a hotel in the Dhading district that a bridge ahead had been destroyed. They spent two days sheltering on higher ground at Malekhu before returning home to Raipur on Saturday. The men reported that they were approximately 50 km from the Pashupatinath Temple when the disaster struck.
