Five of Bihar-based cybercrime gang arrested by Adilabad police for running fake fertiliser franchise website

Jainath police in Adilabad district arrested five members of an interstate cybercrime gang from Bihar for operating a fraudulent website offering fertiliser company franchises. The accused were identified as Abhishek Kumar, Abinash Kumar, Ritesh Kumar, Ashutosh Kumar, and Nishu Kumar. Adilabad Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan stated that the gang is allegedly linked to 498 cyber fraud cases nationwide, resulting in total suspected losses of ₹3.5 crore, including about 90 complaints in Telangana. The perpetrators collected applicants' Aadhaar, PAN, and bank details alongside fees for service and licences, while also running a fake loan scheme. Police seized 10 mobile phones and ₹70,000 in cash, and froze approximately ₹8 lakh of fraud proceeds invested in bank accounts and stock market shares.
