Flávio Bolsonaro Flees To Miami Using Decoys And Private Jet
· World · Hindustan Times, NDTV
Flávio Bolsonaro fled Brazil for Miami less than 24 hours after losing the presidential election in an operation involving decoys and a private jet. Leaving his home in Brasília in a convoy of four dark cars, he eventually traveled across the border to Puerto Iguazú in Argentina. On Wednesday at 12:21 a.m., a Gulfstream G400 took off from Argentina and flew him via Ecuador to Miami, despite a Brazilian court order barring him from leaving the country. U.S. President Donald Trump personally approved his entry, and Argentine President Javier Milei assisted in the transit. Bolsonaro and his family entered the United States under humanitarian parole, which permits them to remain for one year.
Why it matters
The coordinated escape highlights high-level international political backing for the Bolsonaro family amidst ongoing legal investigations in Brazil.
