· World · India Today, Times of India
The body of 28-year-old former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Souri was recovered from the Turag River in Dhaka on Wednesday. Souri had gone missing a day earlier and was widely linked to a video showing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fleeing Bangladesh aboard a military aircraft in August 2024. The Bangladesh River Police confirmed the recovery, stating that the exact cause of death will be determined after a postmortem examination. Hours after the recovery, Souri's cousin Moshfeka Jahan alleged on Facebook that he had faced harassment over the footage and was murdered. The incident occurs just months before Sheikh Hasina is expected to return to Bangladesh from exile in India.
