Former Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta Dies by Suicide

Former Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta, a 1975-batch IAS officer, was found dead in his Noida residence on September 6. Police broke into his locked flat in Kendriya Vihar-2 Society after he failed to respond to calls from his wife, who was in Dehradun. Mehta, aged around 74–75, was found hanging from a ceiling fan. A suicide note cited mental and health issues as the reason. His body was handed over to the family after post-mortem and cremated at Lodhi Road crematorium.
