Former Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton has been denied bail and will remain in custody until his trial in March 2027. The 44-year-old is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to 51-year-old Kevin Lynch at the Huyton and Prescot Golf Club on March 8. Judge David Potter refused the renewed bail application during a hearing at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday. Barton, who appeared via videolink from HMP Liverpool, will face a pre-trial hearing on December 11.
