Almost a decade after quitting the Congress, former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela is in advanced talks with the party leadership about returning to the fold to defeat the BJP in upcoming elections. The 86-year-old leader told The Indian Express on Tuesday that he has discussed the move with AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, Gujarat Congress chief Amit Chavda, and former Union Minister Bharatsinh Solanki, though he stressed his return depends on meeting Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
