Former High Court Judge Mallikarjuna Rao Appointed Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has appointed former Andhra Pradesh High Court judge T. Mallikarjuna Rao as the state's Lokayukta. The appointment follows the recommendation of a selection committee and is made under Section 3(1) of the AP Lokayukta Act, 1983, as amended in 2024. Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad issued the formal notification, G.O. MS No.157, confirming the selection. Justice (Retd.) Mallikarjuna Rao will serve a five-year term starting from his date of appointment. The move is part of the state government's process to fill the anti-corruption ombudsman position.
