Former IAS Officer Rakesh Mehta Found Dead in Noida Residence

Former IAS officer and senior bureaucrat Rakesh Mehta was found dead at his residence in Sector 82, Noida, on Tuesday. Noida police recovered an alleged suicide note in which the 1975-batch officer cited mental and health issues as reasons for taking the step. Mehta served as Delhi's chief secretary and held the top administrative post during the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. He also served as the Delhi State Election Commissioner after retiring from active bureaucratic service. Investigators are examining the recovered note to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
