Former Plaud executive Peter Mo has raised $26 million across multiple funding rounds to build Ambi, an AI app designed to listen to users in the background. The round was led by Luminous Ventures, with backing from Original Design Manufacturer Huaqin. Ambi is rolling out apps for iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watch to provide real-time intelligence and capture context throughout the day. Unlike traditional meeting note-takers that summarize conversations after the fact, Ambi's AI agent aims to surface relevant knowledge and offer suggestions during meetings based on a user's calendar, knowledge base, and web data. The startup also plans to develop a dedicated hardware device equipped with a screen, speaker, camera, and microphones.
