Fortnite Returning to Australian App Store After Court Ruling
· Technology · MacRumors, ABC News (AU)
Epic Games confirmed Fortnite will return to Australia's App Store on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, after a federal court ordered Apple to allow eligible Epic apps back onto the platform. Australia was the only country excluded from Fortnite's global App Store return in May 2026, as Epic held off to seek further court orders addressing Apple's payment terms. The requirement to process Epic's compliant submissions takes effect immediately without waiting for broader App Store changes scheduled for March 2027. Reuters reported the ruling marks a significant win for Epic in its ongoing legal battle with Apple over App Store policies.
Why it matters
Australian iOS users regain access to Fortnite immediately, while Epic accelerates its challenge against Apple's payment terms before the broader March 2027 App Store overhaul takes effect.
