FSSAI Issues 150 Notices to Major Food Brands Over Misleading Ads

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued over 150 notices to major food companies in recent months for misleading advertisements, false claims, and non-compliance with labelling regulations. The list of affected brands includes Nestle India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Mondelez India, and various energy drink and alcoholic beverage manufacturers. The regulator also targeted e-commerce platforms, issuing 12 notices to Amazon and Flipkart, with one Amazon warehouse license reportedly cancelled. Additionally, over 30 notices were sent to food service chains such as KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Costa Coffee, with five Domino's licenses suspended. The FSSAI stated that several companies have already begun taking corrective actions in response to these enforcement measures.
