FSSAI Seizes Expired Infant Food From British Life Sciences in Bengaluru

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has initiated legal action against Bengaluru-based British Life Sciences Private Limited after finding safety violations in its infant food products. Officials seized a substantial quantity of misbranded and expired infant food during an inspection conducted under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006. The court subsequently ordered the destruction of approximately 3.7 metric tonnes of the expired stock to prevent its reintroduction into the food chain. British Life Sciences is a subsidiary of British Biologicals and specialises in maternal and child nutrition products. The enforcement drive forms part of broader regulatory measures targeting compliance across companies producing infant nutrition items.
