Gautam Buddha Nagar To Hold Special Summary Revision Camps On Oct 17 And 24
· India · Indian Express, NDTV, India Today
Special Summary Revision Camps will be held in Gautam Buddha Nagar on October 17 and 24 to enrol eligible voters left out after the final electoral roll was published on April 10. Booth Level Officers will be present at each polling booth from 10 am to 4 pm on both days. The drive follows a direction from the state's Chief Electoral Officer after roughly 3.6 lakh voters in Gautam Buddha Nagar did not make it to the final electoral roll following a Special Intensive Revision exercise in Uttar Pradesh. District election officers instructed supervisors to inform Booth Level Officers that new voters added under special circumstances no longer require information related to the Special Intensive Revision. Applicants registering through Form-6 must attach a photograph, date of birth, and proof of address, with a primary focus on first-time voters, women, and physical verification of voters aged 80 and above.
Why it matters
The special revision camps provide an opportunity for the roughly 3.6 lakh left-out voters in Gautam Buddha Nagar to get enrolled on the electoral rolls ahead of upcoming polls.
