Gautam Gambhir Prioritizes Right Decisions Over Popularity
· Sports · Times of India, Sportstar
India head coach Gautam Gambhir stated on Sunday that his primary responsibility is making correct decisions for the team rather than seeking popularity, amid ongoing debate regarding the exclusion of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Gambhir emphasized that maintaining a sense of security in the dressing room is vital and that players who have performed consistently over time deserve to be backed. He noted that India has already secured the five-match T20I series against New Zealand after winning the first three games. Gambhir rejected the idea of complacency in dead rubbers, asserting that every international match is an opportunity for players to evolve.
