Gavaskar Wishes Rohit Sharma More Centuries Than His Age
· Sports · Times of India, Indian Express
Sunil Gavaskar has expressed a desire for Rohit Sharma to retire with more ODI centuries than his age. The former cricketer voiced his disappointment after Rohit was dismissed for 92 runs during the third ODI against the West Indies. Gavaskar believes that reaching this milestone would be a fitting tribute to Rohit's consistent performance throughout his international career. He also noted that Rohit’s current batting approach, which prioritizes staying at the crease, could help him achieve this goal before his potential retirement after the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
Why it matters
Rohit Sharma's ability to convert starts into centuries is critical for India's success in upcoming major ICC tournaments.
