· Business · Economic Times, The Hindu
GE Aerospace plans to nearly double its spending on Indian suppliers between 2025 and 2030 to support the country's expanding aviation sector. The company spent approximately $200 million on its Indian supply chain in 2025 and aims to significantly increase this investment to meet rising demand. A report by Ernst & Young indicates that GE Aerospace engines power the majority of commercial airline operations in India, with over 1,400 engines in service as of December 2025. This growth supports an estimated 370,000 direct jobs within India's aviation and manufacturing ecosystem.
Why it matters
The increased investment by GE Aerospace is expected to strengthen India's domestic supply chain and manufacturing capabilities, further integrating the country into the global aviation market.
