Google Adds Personalization Controls To Search And Discover Feeds
· Technology · Android Authority, Business Standard
Google is introducing new personalization features across its Search, Discover, and News platforms to give users more control over recommended content. Users can now specify topics they want to see more of by using a three-dot menu in the Google app. Additionally, a new Preferred Source button allows users to prioritize content from their favorite publications, which will influence results in Top Stories, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Google is also enabling users to curate daily audio briefings in the News app on Android based on specific interests.
Why it matters
These updates allow users to bypass Google's default algorithmic suggestions, granting them direct influence over the news and topics that appear in their daily feeds.
