Google Expands Android Security With Gemini Powered Scam Detection

Google is bringing a suite of four new anti-scam and privacy protection features to Android devices and Google Messages. The updates feature Gemini-powered Scam Detection to warn users about deceptive messages and bad actors before they engage. Google is also expanding the feature's availability through partnerships with major device manufacturers including Honor, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, vivo, and Xiaomi. Furthermore, Android 15 devices are receiving automatic screen-sharing privacy filters to conceal banking details and passwords. The company is additionally introducing call forwarding protection to prevent malicious apps from secretly enabling call rerouting.
