Google Gemini 4 Agents Autonomously Defeat Minecraft's Ender Dragon
· Technology · Engadget, Mashable
Four Google Gemini 4 Argon agents successfully defeated Minecraft's Ender Dragon without any human intervention in a sandboxed survival world. Operating via the Mineflayer library, the agents coordinated through in-game chat and shared memory over 27.23 hours. They autonomously divided tasks, with agent janesick making tools, gyldenia gathering food, auratian lighting a portal, and bulicame building shelters and landing the final blow. The session involved writing and running 2,783 programs, exchanging 229 messages, and experiencing 605 deaths. A fifth agent named the Observer monitored the gameplay as an independent witness, using 1.35 billion input tokens at a total cost between $810 and $1,620.
Why it matters
