Google Photos has rolled out an AI-powered virtual closet feature that creates a digital wardrobe from users’ outfit photos, now available on both Android and iOS devices in the United States, Brazil, and India. The feature, first announced earlier this year and initially released to Android users in June, allows users to filter clothing items by category such as tops, bottoms, and jewelry, and mix and match them to create new outfits. Google confirms that data on users’ clothing choices is not shared with third parties, including retailers. The virtual closet rollout coincides with other Google Photos updates, including Gemini Spark for single-prompt photo editing, an upgraded markup tool with redacting and font options, new AI-powered Remix templates, and Android-exclusive Moods filters like 35mm film and 2000s digicam looks.
