Google announced five new Android features on Tuesday, headlined by "Motion Assist," a bubble overlay that moves in sync with a vehicle to ease motion sickness for Android 17 users. The tool mirrors Apple's "Vehicle Motion Cues" introduced in 2024, and users can set it to auto-activate, pin it to Quick Settings, and customise its shape, colour, and transparency. "Guided Vision," built on Gemini, pairs the phone camera with AI to help blind and low-vision users read small print, scan menus in dark restaurants, and identify household objects, with voice prompts guiding camera positioning; it will roll out to Android 9 and newer in markets where Gemini is available. A new "remembered items" section in Find Hub lets users ask Gemini to log where they stored valuables like a passport, with an optional photo for easier identification. Google Messages is gaining Google Keep integration for shared grocery and travel lists, along with new per-chat background customisation options.
