· Technology · VentureBeat, The Hindu, Fortune

Google has released two versions of its new Gemini 3.8 Flash model, designed for enhanced agentic tasks and cybersecurity vulnerability detection. The standard Flash 3.8 model is built for software development and multi-step reasoning, reportedly outperforming several frontier models on the DeepSWE coding benchmark. The specialized Flash Cyber model focuses on identifying and patching vulnerabilities, achieving an 86.2% score on the CyberGym benchmark. Both models are available within the Gemini Enterprise platform and via the Gemini API. Google has maintained the same introductory pricing as the 3.7 version, charging $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.

Why it matters

The release provides developers and cybersecurity professionals with more efficient, cost-effective tools for automated coding and threat mitigation at scale. These models enable faster vulnerability patching and complex reasoning tasks, directly impacting software development workflows and enterprise security operations.
