AM Intelligence (AMI), the AI infrastructure arm of AM Group, has placed an order for 9,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems to power its upcoming AI factory in Hyderabad. The GPUs, scheduled for delivery in Q1 2027, will support the first 30-megawatt phase of the facility. AMI plans to invest over $8 billion globally in AI compute infrastructure, with the Hyderabad project being the initial part of a 1-gigawatt compute-as-a-Service platform spanning India, the US, Finland, and Malaysia. The company aims to bring 200 megawatts of AI compute capacity online in the near term, positioning the Hyderabad site as one of Asia's first frontier AI compute clusters.
Why it matters
