Gurugram Service Road Caves In After Master Sewer Line Collapse

A 10-foot-by-10-foot sinkhole formed on the service road at IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram on Tuesday following the collapse of a master sewer line. The National Highways Authority of India closed two service lanes to traffic, while local police barricaded the site to prevent accidents. This structural failure occurred alongside widespread waterlogging that disrupted city traffic following heavy rainfall. Residents across several sectors, including 46, 48, 49, 50, 52, 56, 57, and 58 to 76, also faced water supply issues due to damage to pipelines near Baani Square. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority plans to begin repair work on Wednesday and will conduct an inspection to determine the cause of the sewer collapse.
